Stormtroopers 365 (etc.)
Star Wars Toy photography and that sort of things.
Here are the original pictures from Apollo 11 that I tried to re-create :
I didnt manage to get the right colors, next time I’ll go to the Moon to have the real lighting we get there.
P.S. Awesome choice of music.

Haha, very creative!
Very good! I like it!
Houston – Echo Base here. The Falcon has landed.
What a great tribute!
SO funny and amazing! Can you please post a shot of your setup for this?
It’s funny that you ask this, because I actually took pictures of the setup but didn’t think it would interest anyone. I was keeping them for the extras I will release when the Stormtroopers 365 project is over in april 2010.
Here they are. As you can see it’s very professionnal.
I wanted to have some earth and some relief on the ground, so I had to make the pictures in my garden. But since I didn’t want to wait for the night to make the photos (especially in summer, when night doesnt come down before eleven), I built some kind of tent, using a clotheshorse, a black tablecloth and some cardboard. I put a desk lamp inside the tent, to get the kind of shadows we can see on the Apollo 11 photos. I also had a small eeepc laptop with me to have the original pictures with me for reference (I wanted the troopers to take the same postures are the real guys).
The 3rd picture (1st one on the postcard) was easier. I made it using my computer screen as background, with the following picture displayed on it : http://www.astro.ir/AstronomicalGallery/MoonMap-Aug19,2005.jpg
Here’s a great site to relive the Apollo 11 mission : http://www.wechoosethemoon.org/
I also recommend Gareth’s picture from the Year of the Fett 365 (awesome) project :
Those setups are great! I really enjoy seeing how different a setup shot can be compared to the final product… I wish I would’ve taken one for my shot, but I was running late on time… lol.
Let’s just say it’s a baking sheet full of sand, some black construction paper with silver stars penned on, a custom flag, and a desk lamp… lol.
Great job! Awesome shots Stéfan!!
Ah ha Stefan! Many people think that is exactly how the original moon landing was staged.
Stefan, well done on reenacting the moon landing! Thanks for sharing the photo of your setup too. It looks fun 😉
Seen on your photo stream. (?)
I had the same ideia, but I didn’t obtain a ground like the Moon, then I made this collage:
love this one, amazing work and very good result……..
